Health in Pregnancy Grant

As a mum-to-be living in the UK, you can claim a one-off payment of £190 once you reach your 25th week of your pregnancy. It’s called Health in Pregnancy Grant and is to help towards all those extra bits and pieces.

When you reach your 25th week, ask your midwife or doctor for a claim form at your next appointment.

Simple steps to remember

  1. 1 When you reach your 25th week of pregnancy ask your midwife or doctor to for the Health in Pregnancy Grant claim form. Make sure it’s fully complete and sent back within 31 days to receive your £190 grant.
  2. 2 Once your baby’s born, register the birth of your child.
  3. 3 Fill in and send off a Child Benefit form to claim. Forms are available from the newborn Bounty pack or via the Helpline on 0845 302 1444
  4. 4 Once you receive your Child Benefit award, you will receive your Child Trust Fund voucher.
  5. 5 Open an account as soon as possible so your baby doesn’t miss out.
  6. 6 Apply for Child Tax Credits if you’re eligible (claims can only be backdated by 3 months).
